AITIA is a project from Laura Brennan Bissell that is focused on the Underwood Mountain terroir of the Columbia Gorge. Laura's vineyards sit at 1700 feet on the Washington side of the Columbia Gorge. The estate vineyards are organically farmed, dry-farmed, own-rooted, and no-till. The vines are untied, allowed to grow naturally. The property is painted with natural cover crop. This is truly organic, sustainable viticulture.
The 2022 Edelzwicker is a blend of Albariño, Gewurztraminer, Gruner Veltliner, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Gris. This blend was native yeast fermented and saw 18 months of ageing in neutral oak before bottling. The wine is unfined, unfiltered, and saw a minimal amount of SO2. This dry, white wine is elegant, light on its feet, and fresh with a long finish.
