About Bull Run Distilling

Lee Medoff, the company's head distiller and founder, got his start in the beverage industry as a brewer at McMenamins and later co-founded House Spirits. Lee established the Bull Run Distillery in Portland, Oregon, and also serves as its lead distiller. Medoff, a native Oregonian, got his start in the industry in the brewing industry. After his early attempts at distilling, he decided to move on to winemaking before settling on a career in the industry.

He began distilling legally and professionally in 1998. Some well-known craft spirit brands, including his namesake Medoyeff Vodka and Aviation Gin, were developed at House Spirits Distillery, which he founded in 2004. In addition to being a pioneer in the craft distilling industry, he was also the first president of the Oregon Distillers Guild.

In 2010, he established Bull Run Distillery with the intention of creating a pure malt Oregon Whiskey, and he has since been busy creating innovative barrel-finished spirits. What followed was a meteoric rise in popularity for Bull Run's already-acclaimed whiskeys.
