Pinot Noir Russian River Valley - 2019

The wine is dark red/purple in color. The nose is rich with ripe black fruit, baking spices, and a touch of mint tea. On the palate, the wine is mouth-filling with layers of silky black cherry reduction, brioche, and notes of hibiscus and cinnamon. The finish is soft, supple, and satisfyingly long.

  • Country:United States
  • Fermentation:66% of the grapes were destemmed only and transferred by gravity to open-top fermenters. The other 33% was left as whole clusters and added to the bottom of the tank. A long, cool 5-day cold soak was allowed before the tank was taken off cooling. The must was then fermented with indigenous yeast to promote complexity and terroir. The fermented wine was pressed off slightly before dryness to minimize harsh phenols and retain its core of fruit. Malolactic fermentation was completed with indigenous flora.
  • Elevage:The wine was aged in 100% French oak, 30% of it new from the forests of Troncais and Cha1llon of Central France.
