The Cortese grapes are sourced from the Lost Slough Vineyard, characterized by its deep clay loam soils. This vineyard is situated in the southernmost part of the Clarksburg AVA, near the historic Chinese settlement town of Locke. The location's cool summer nights allow the grapes to maintain good acidity. After harvesting, the grapes underwent whole-cluster pressing and were left to settle overnight. The fermentation process was entirely native, taking place in neutral oak barrels.
