About Ca Del Monte

Ca del Monte is tucked away in the hills above the Valpolicella town of Negrar. It has been in the hands of the Zaconte family for multiple generations, with current management provided by brothers Umberto and Giuseppe. The house and winery are small and are located next to an old monastery from the 17th century. The vineyard's 15–65-year-old vines are planted on moderate slopes at an elevation of 800–900 meters and cover around 50 acres of the estate.

Clay, limestone, red volcanic soil with red stones, and a green volcanic soil called "Toar" are the four types of soil in which they thrive. Ca Del Monte uses Corvina, Rodinella, and Molinara grapes from vines that are 20-40 years old and are cultivated in poor soils that both stress the vines and nourish the fruit.
