“The Grenache block at Portico Hills is oriented to the north. Leaning away from the sun in this cool year, the Grenache holds subtle lift and ripe depth. The Syrah block mimics Graciano's orientation to the south, promoting ample mature flavors. Contributing blueberry preserves, smoky spice and plush texture. The Graciano brings the bones, adding sophisticated scaffolding and elongated tension.”

New York based Sadie Laska inspires us with her balance of bold vs delicate and calculated vs whimsical contrast. Her art expresses similar refined raw energy we capture in our wines. Laska’s gestural abstraction promotes a humorous and playful aura that is encouraged through graphic color choices and universally recognizable symbols. Reminiscent of childlike chaos, Laska adopts and appropriates familiar deconstructed compositions while implementing her strong understanding of color theory and line weight. By layering aggressive gestures against soft washes and fine line work, hidden figures become personal coded messages. She has a current exhibit at Canada New York Art Gallery 10/22 – 12/05/2020.
