Established in 1969, Titus Vineyards is a family owned vineyard and winery located at the base of Howell Mountain along the Silverado Trail in the heart of the St. Helena AVA. Over the past 50 years, some of the valleys finest wines including Charles Krug, Beaulieu Vineyards, and Cuvaison have originated from Titus’ historic vineyards. Brothers Eric and Phillip Titus believe in a low-intensity approach is based on techniques that avoid pesticides, biocides, and unnecessary fertilization and encourages cover crops, beneficial native species, and soil health. They believe that high-quality fruit begins with carefully matching the proper rootstock and variety to the particular soil of each vineyard block. The Reserve bottling of Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the Ehlers Lane Vineyard. This vineyard lies on the northern boundary of the St. Helena AVA. The volcanic soils and steep slopes yield small, concentrated Cabernet Sauvignon berries. The 2021 Titus Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested between September 17th and 27th. The grapes were destemmed and fermented in stainless steel. The wine was then racked to French oak barrels (50% new) for 22 months before it was bottled.
