Story

This is a Southern Rhone varietal blend from biodynamically grown grapes at Mendocino's Sun Hawk Farms. The grapes--Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, Counoise, Cabernet Sauvignon, Marsanne, Roussanne, Viognier, Picpoul and Muscat-- are not only grown together, but they're harvested at the same time, then fermented whole cluster with foot-treading twice daily. The wine is finally aged for 18 months in 500-liter acacia barrels. The white varietals add a stunning floral, stone fruit element to the already-expressive nose (violets, red fruit, bacon fat).
